Dr. James Demaio is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated with honors (Summa cum Laude). He earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School (1982-1986) and then completed his residency at the University of Washington (1986-1989). After a four year tour of active duty with The United States Air Force, Dr. Demaio finished an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Johns Hopkins in Maryland.

Eliot W. Godofsky, MD
Eliot Godofsky is a native New Yorker currently practicing in Bradenton, FL. Following his Infectious Disease fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD from 1990-92, Dr. Godofsky settled in private practice and clinical research as CEO of Bach & Godofsky, MD, PA in Bradenton, FL. The practice currently consists of 6 physicians, over 30 employees, and is involved in infectious disease consultation, outpatient antibiotic therapy, wound care, HIV care, Hepatitis C care, and clinical research. Dr. Godofsky serves as the Medical Director of the wound care center at Bach & Godofsky, a unique facility that cares for over 100 patients daily.
Lauren Acevedo Molina, MD

Lauren Acevedo Molina, MD
Dr. Lauren Acevedo-Molina was born and raised in PR. She completed her undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Puerto Rico in 2015, where she graduated with honors and magna cum laude. In 2018, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at the VA Caribbean Healthcare Center in San Juan. She returned to the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine to complete her Infectious Disease fellowship, where she served as chief resident in her last year of training. During her medical training years, Dr. Acevedo-Molina distinguished herself by winning a Professionalism Award in residency and a research poster competition at the American College of Physicians Puerto Rico Chapter annual convention.
Dr. Acevedo-Molina is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. In August 2020, after graduating from fellowship, she joined Bach and Godofsky Infectious Diseases.
When Dr. Acevedo-Molina is not working she enjoys cooking and going to the beach with her husband.
Monica Corzo-Pedrosa, MD

Monica Corzo-Pedrosa, MD
Dr. Monica B. Corzo-Pedrosa was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Dr. Corzo-Pedrosa attended the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) – Rio Piedras Campus for her ungraduated degree. She completed her medical degree with honors (Magna Cum Laude) at UPR- School of Medicine, where she also completed her Internal Medicine residency (2014 – 2017).
Dr. Corzo-Pedrosa next pursued her Infectious Disease Fellowship at University of Miami Florida. The move to Miami brought new perspectives and growth opportunities. In 2019, she decided to move to Sarasota, Florida where she joined Bach & Godofsky.
She is Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease Board Certified.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family.
Kyle Humphrey, MD

Kyle Humphrey, MD
Dr. Kyle Humphrey is from Alabama. He completed his undergraduate degree in biological engineering at Mississippi State University and his medical degree from Trinity School of Medicine in St. Vincent. He then went on to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of South Alabama. After residency, he completed an infectious disease fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He enjoys general infectious diseases, HIV, and hepatitis care. He also has additional training in tropical medicine and nontuberculous mycobacterial infections. Including a mini fellowship at National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado.

Dr Harmanpreet Kaur is originally from Brooklyn, NY. She earned her medical degree at the Medical University of Lubin in Poland. Afterwards, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. She then moved to Houston, TX to continue her Infectious disease fellowship at The University of Houston, Texas and MD Anderson. After completing her General Infectious Disease Fellowship, Dr. Kaur decided to pursue an additional year of training in Solid Organ Transplant Infectious Diseases at The University of Texas in Houston. Once she completed her training, she decided to move back to Florida to be closer to friends and family. She joined Bach and Godofsky in October 2022 and has a special interest in infections related to Immunocompromised hosts, including Oncology and Transplant recipients. She is Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease Board certified. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog.

Dr. Stuart Offner is a native Floridian, born and raised in West Palm Beach. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, and went on to get his medical degree from Ross University. He began his Internal Medicine residency at the University of South Alabama in 2006, and upon completion of his 3-year residency, he served an additional year as the chief medical resident.
Following that, Dr. Offner stayed in Mobile to complete his infectious disease fellowship from 2010-2012. He then decided to move back to his home state of Florida to begin practicing infectious disease.

Dr. Jon Velasco is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Infectious Diseases.
Born in the Philippines, he earned his medical degree at the Cebu Institute of Medicine (2006-2010), the top in the country. He took 2nd place in the Physician Licensure Exam out of 990 examinees. He then moved to the US and trained at the Montefiore Health Systems in New Rochelle, NY for Internal Medicine. He finished an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in 2020 with a focus on drug resistant organisms, HIV, Hepatitis C and bone marrow transplant infections. He joined Bach and Godofsky in 2020. Dr. Velasco is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

Laura Havelis, APRN
Laura Havelis received her Bachelor of Nursing from Thomas Edison State University. She started her career at Virtua Health in 2008, where she began as a floor nurse for an Infectious Disease and Respiratory Unit. During her time as a nurse, Laura completed her master’s degree in Nursing at Rutgers University, becoming a Family Health Nurse Practitioner in 2015. In 2017 she made the decision to specialize and joined Virtua Health Infectious Diseases until relocating to Lakewood Ranch in 2021.
Since relocating, Laura has been a valued member of Bach and Godofsky as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with board certification through the ANCC, while holding memberships with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Infectious Diseases Society America.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Michael and three children Christopher, Sophia, and Oliva.

Heather Horne was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. She graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016 and received her master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2020. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She brings background experience in emergency medicine and urgent care. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, working out and spending time outdoors.

Kyung Jin "Rebecca" Lee was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She moved to the United States at the age of 11 and primarily lived in Maryland until relocating to Bradenton, Florida in 2021. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She then went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Nursing, graduating with honors, from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She is board certified through American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She worked as a critical care nurse in the cardiac intensive care units, in addition to cardiac cath lab prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. She then went on to specialize in cardiovascular medicine after graduate school, more specifically in the specialty of advanced heart failure, including ventricular assist devices and heart transplantation in critical care settings. She has always been interested in the field of infectious diseases. In her career, she has come across and cared for many chronic and acute/critically ill patients whose disease processes were also complicated by infections. She made the decision to transition to the infectious disease specialty and joined Bach and Godofsky Infectious Disease group in December of 2023. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children.

Rachel Marquina was born and raised in New Jersey and now happily resides in Bradenton, Florida. She is a Nurse Practitioner and is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her nursing degree from the State College of Florida in Bradenton, Florida, and then went on to further her education, earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice with Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Rachel is credentialed at Blake Medical Center and Manatee Memorial Hospital. She is also active with local professional organizations including the Manatee Area Council for Advanced Nursing Practice. Rachel loves teaching and serves as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students with her alma mater, Florida State University.

Lisa Neufeld was born in Akron Ohio and moved to Sarasota Florida over 20 years ago after spending many family vacations in Florida. Lisa still has family in Ohio and loves to visit in the Spring and Autumn. After moving to Florida, she worked as RN working in several areas including cardiac acute, medical -surgery, and Clinical Research. She earned her NP license while working as an RN at SMH. She graduated magna cum laude from University of South Florida where she obtained her master’s in nursing, nationally certified from AANP in Adult-Gerontology in 2016. She has worked as an NP in the area of Infectious Disease for 6 years in wound care and hospital setting. She is Nationally Certified as Wound Care Nurse Practitioner. She enjoys maintaining a healthy active lifestyle, the outdoors, hiking, cooking and ran several marathons including the Boston marathon. She is most grateful and blessed for her 4 beautiful daughters, my youngest daughter will graduate from FSU this year. She is happy to be a part of the Bach & Godofsky team.

Katie Tinley, Nurse Practitioner, is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Katie served on active duty as a Commissioned Officer with the U. S. Coast Guard after having earned a bachelor’s degree from The United States Coast Guard Academy. Upon leaving the military, Katie pursued a career in nursing, earning her nursing degree from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. She then acquired a master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and a post-master’s certificate from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She is credentialed at Blake Medical Center and Manatee Memorial Hospital, and she is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Manatee Area Council for Advanced Nursing Practice. Because of her passion for teaching, Katie is on staff with the State College of Florida as adjunct nursing faculty.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and camping with her family.

Her background experience includes emergency medicine and post anesthesia care. She has worked at Bach and Godofsky since 2008, and is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
